Meet Our Team
CEO & Co-Founder
John Bracken is Co-Founder and CEO of Speek. He is a business development executive and product visionary with a passion for building voice and web communication products. John has played key roles in several of our generation’s most influential web products, including Evite, AIM and Patch. Prior to serving as CEO of Speek, John worked as a business development executive at AOL, where he supported the expansion of the AIM network to hundreds of third party products and the growth of Patch, one of the largest local media web properties in the US. As an entrepreneur, John was a co-founder, COO and business development executive of Evite, a website that remains the leader in its category. In his early career, John worked as a technology and telecommunications consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and the San Francisco Consulting Group. John has an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Konrad Waliszewski is Chief Operating Officer at Speek. Prior to Speek, Konrad advised numerous clients—from large, publicly traded companies and investment firms to startups—on corporate finance, strategic planning and merger & acquisition projects. He was also an investment banker at GCA Savvian in San Francisco, where he focused on technology buyouts, private financings and capital market transactions. Konrad has been a guest contributor to Fast Company and Forbes on startup and corporate finance related topics. You can find Konrad on Konrad’s World Venture Project, where he blogs about his observations traveling the world and working with local startups, investors and philanthropic organizations.
Matt Turner is CTO at Speek. He was the platform architect and CTO of Userplane, an AOL Company that built real-time chat and instant messaging clients of scale for many of the largest websites. Matt’s passion for real-time communication on the web and expertise at scaling these types of experiences is what drives Speek’s engineering approach.
VP of Sales
Brian Hoffner is the VP of Sales. Prior to joining Speek he was the manager of two platforms, Onosys Online Ordering and the Marketplace sales team at Livingsocial, a Daily Deals company focused on bringing the best local experience to its clients and customers in the small business space. Brian’s drive and aptitude to build out and train sales teams is what brought him to Speek. Growing the bottom line and investing in top salespeople is what drives Speek’s sales approach.
Principal Voice Engineer
Joel Rosenfield is Principal Voice Engineer at Speek. He is a software engineer with over 25 years of experience in the architecture, design and implementation of telecommunications and real-time systems. Joel has developed a broad range of communication applications for BroadSoft, SunRocket and magicJack. He has spent the last several years producing VoIP solutions after developing embedded software applications for the first 14 years of his career. Joel has an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Chief of Customer Happiness
As Chief of Customer Happiness, Virginia Lee manages Speek’s user community. Virginia was Speek’s first employee and joined the team as Director of Product. Her passion for keeping Speek’s users happy and informed led to her current position. Prior to working for Speek, Virginia was a Product Owner for The College Board when it launched its first set of web applications to support millions of users. She has also been a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she managed business and technical requirements for high profile companies and government agencies. Earlier in her career, Virginia owned and operated her own web development and consulting firm.
Director of Analytics
Stephen Levin is Director of Analytics at Speek. He helps Speek complete the data loop of its Lean Methodology by ensuring the company makes smart, data-driven decisions in product development, marketing, business development and more. He developed his passion for data while analyzing aviation safety and flight metrics for MITRE and the FAA. Stephen has a BA in Mathematics from the University of Virginia (UVA) and an MS in Commerce from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce.
Director of Platform Engineering
Patrick Santora is the Director of Platform Engineering at Speek. He is a passionate solutions-oriented application architect with broad experience designing, developing, configuring and implementing enterprise and startup solutions. He is an analytical professional who has worked with such companies as AOL’s Userplane and Altus Learning Systems. Patrick has years of experience with different development methodologies and a great understanding of cloud and dedicated systems configurations.
Miklos Pataky is the Release Manager at Speek. As a rare full-stack developer, he is proficient in every layer of the software stack. Miklos honed these skills and caught Speek’s attention through his involvement in over a dozen hackathons and coding competitions. Prior to Speek, he ran his own software consulting firm, where he advised companies on enterprise and web technologies. He has also held positions at several software firms, including Neovera and Microsoft.
John Robinson is a Software Engineer at Speek. He has a passion for scalable and responsive user experiences and played a lead role in designing the Userplane SDK, a platform built to power a multitude of real-time social web based experiences. John brings his extensive experience in building real-time communication applications to Speek’s frontend team.
Chelsea Crowson is an Account Executive for Speek’s dynamic Sales Team. She helps our customers using knowledge and expertise through the process of going from prospect to loyal customer. Prior to joining Speek, Chelsea worked in sales in the medical division of Intuit in San Francisco, CA, where she learned the dismal status-quo of teleconferencing. She studied Public Policy and Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Go Heels!
Customer Success Manager
Whitney Santini is the Customer Success Manager at Speek. She ensures our users are provided with an outstanding user experience as well as the tools they need to get the most out of Speek. With a background in client success and a passion for great customer service, she helps you make every conference call count.
